FAQs

The basics

What does AI Applied actually do?

We are a UK AI software studio. You tell us the outcome you need; we design the system around how your work really happens, build it, host it and keep improving it for a monthly fee. We carry the delivery risk rather than handing you a project and walking away.

How is that different from hiring a consultancy?

A consultancy sells you effort and leaves you owning the result. We sell the result and own the effort. One company is answerable for the design, the build, the hosting and the improvements — us.

Do I need technical knowledge?

No. We handle the technical side and explain what we are building and why in plain English. If you can describe the outcome you want, that is enough to start.

Working with us

How does an engagement run?

Four stages. Design — we learn how the work happens and agree the exact result and price before anything is built. Build — our build engine, APEX, delivers a finished, secure system in weeks. Run — we host, monitor and operate it. Improve — it keeps getting better as your needs shift, and that is part of the monthly fee.

What kinds of problems suit this?

Document-heavy processes, regulated workflows that need consistency and an audit trail, decision support built on scattered data, customer service and personalisation at scale, and manual review that works today but breaks at tomorrow’s volume. If it is repetitive, rules-heavy or data-rich, it is worth a teardown.

Can you work with the systems we already have?

Yes. We design around your existing process and tooling rather than asking you to start again.

Cost

What does it cost?

There are two parts: an implementation fee from £10,000, paid in stages across the build rather than all up front, and a run-and-improve fee from £800 a month covering hosting, monitoring, support and ongoing improvement. Those are indicative starting points — every engagement is scoped to your problem and the final figure is agreed in writing after the design chat, before any work begins.

Why a monthly fee rather than a one-off project?

Because a system that is never touched again slowly stops being useful. The monthly fee keeps it hosted, monitored and improving, and it means we stay accountable for the outcome rather than the handover.

Security and compliance

Is it secure and auditable?

It is built that way from the start — secure, auditable and compliant by design, with the evidence captured behind each step. We build around UK and EU regulation, including the EU AI Act.

Who hosts it?

We do. We host, monitor and keep the system running on secure infrastructure as part of the monthly fee, so you see the outcome rather than the maintenance.

Idonara

What is Idonara?

Idonara is our own product — AI recruitment software for UK hiring. It is marketed and run separately from Solution as a Service, and you can read about it on our Idonara page or at idonara.com. You can try it free on one live role.

Getting started

What is the first step?

Book the free 30-minute APEX AI-Readiness Teardown. Bring one process you wish AI would take off your plate and we will run it through APEX live. You will leave with a straight answer on whether it is a good candidate, what the first move is, and what it would take. No deck, no hard sell.

What if I already know what I want built?

Then skip the teardown and ask for a design chat — a free scoping call where we work out the result, the timeline and the price before you commit to anything. Book a time here and say so when you tell us what it is about.
